Northwest Symposium 2007
Cancellation Notice
Unfortunately, the CESNW Northwest Symposium (Saturday, Feb. 10) has been cancelled. We have heard from many of you that your school's routines and schedules have been substantially disrupted by winter storms and subsequent make-up days, and that you and your colleagues feel unusually frazzled this winter. We also haven't heard from many of you—our offers to lead sessions and our registrations are lagging well behind our usual numbers at this point—and we take that as another indicator that this year is a tough one for most of you.
The Northwest Symposium will return with more energy than ever in 2008.
Our apologies if this cancellation has caused difficulties for you.

Additional Information
E-mail holli@cesnw.orgThe 15th annual Northwest Symposium will be held at The Tyee Educational Complex in SeaTac, WA, on Saturday February 10, 2007. The Symposium is focused on the implementation of the Common Principles of the Coalition of Essential Schools. The format of this conference is unique: teachers and students will engage in deep dialogue on a few topics, as well as exchange successful practices. Clock hours are available.
The format includes:
- Workshops: will teach new knowledge and skills and provide opportunities for in-depth discussions for beginners as well as those more advanced in working with these ideas. Some workshops will be led by students.
- Equity Discussion: all participants will engage in a small group discussion of an equity issue.
- Student Summit: is an opportunity for students to work together on understanding the Common Principles. Students are also included in the equity discussion groups and workshops.
- Critical Friendships: all have opportunities to develop relationships with other schools to continue and advance their work beyond the Symposium.
